Apex Skyline Hospital Successfully Removes 20 Gallstones Through Advanced ERCP Procedure

Apex Skyline Hospital, located on Road No. 3 in Jhunjhunu, achieved another medical milestone by successfully removing more than 20 gallstones from a patient’s bile duct using the advanced Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) procedure.
A 50-year-old woman had been admitted to the hospital with severe abdominal pain, nausea, jaundice, and dark-colored urine. She was examined by Dr. Naveen Mehla, a specialist in gastroenterology, liver, and intestinal disorders, who recommended an ERCP procedure.
During the minimally invasive treatment, the patient was given mild sedation and a flexible endoscope was carefully passed through the mouth into the intestine. X-ray imaging revealed multiple stones obstructing the bile duct. Dr. Mehla performed a sphincterotomy followed by balloon extraction, successfully removing over 20 gallstones within just 20–30 minutes.
The patient recovered well and was discharged in stable condition. Highlighting the achievement, Deepak Saini, Marketing Head at Apex Skyline Hospital, said, “Dr. Naveen Mehla is available daily at our hospital to provide specialized care in gastroenterology, liver, and intestinal disorders. With advanced facilities like ERCP, patients in Jhunjhunu no longer need to travel outside for complex treatments.”
