Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery (CABG)
CABG is the most commonly preferred procedure to treat coronary artery disease in which the narrowing of the coronary arteries takes place. These arteries are the blood vessels that are responsible for carrying nutrients and supplying oxygen to the heart muscles. This is mainly caused due to the formation of fatty material in the inside of the walls of the arteries. As a result, blockage occurs. In this surgical procedure, the surgeons take blood vessels from the chest, leg, or arm and just graft it to the affected coronary artery. This enables blood to pass easily through the artery.
Heart Valve Repair or Replacement surgery
The surgery is mainly performed to treat faulty or damaged heart valves and assist the heart to pump blood property in the entire body. Depending on the severity of the condition, our surgeons in consultation with the cardiologist decide whether to repair the damaged valve or replace the existing valve with an artificial valve. In the case of valve repair, a catheter is inserted through a large blood vessel and sent to the heart. A small balloon is tied on the tip of the catheter which is inflated or deflated to widen the narrow valve.
Aneurysm Repair
An aortic aneurysm is identified as a condition in which a bulge occurs in the aorta which is the primary blood vessel that carries blood from the heart to the entire body. Although the heart has thick walls sometimes due to illness or any genetic defect, the walls become weak. The constant flowing of blood exerts pressure on the walls which makes them swell. Our cardiologists perform Aneurysm Repair surgery in which the weak section of the heart wall or the artery is replaced with a patch or graft. This helps in repairing the bulge in the artery or the wall of the heart.
Congenital Heart Surgery
